In the Hunger Games, you need to use weapons to survive and kill your opponents. Here is a quick list that will help you in the Arena.

Bow and arrow: These two combined forms a long distance weapon which can be useful if you aren't good with knifes and fighting up close. They have great aim and have most often been used to hunt for food.

Dagger: The blade is similar to a sword's, but it is considerably shorter. Some of its uses include slashing, cutting and thrusts to an opponent's body. It can also be used like a knife if necessary.

Knife: These tools are quite versatile and have many abilities. People have knives to use as a tool, weapon or piece of silverware. Some are single sided while others are double sided, like a dagger.

Machete: It is a very long knife that can stab, bludgeon or cut something/someone. This kind of knife is better for being used as a weapon than a tool.

Rocks: If you can't access any knives or other weaponry, this is probably your best bet. These are more of a close range weapon seeing as you would need to hit your opponent somehow to actually injure them. Shards of rocks that are sharp could be similar to a makeshift knife if needed. They can also start fires.

Sickle: This weapon is a hand held weapon with a curved silver blade. Unlike knives and daggers, the blade is shaped like a cescent moon instead of straight. They are also great for slashing and cutting.

Spear: Spears consist of a pole with a point at the end of one side. Sometimes the point is fashioned from the pole and is just one object but other times the point is more sturdy like a sharp rock or a piece of iron/steel. They can be thrown to hit someone or you can thrust them at a close distance.

Sword: Similar to a knife or dagger, swords have a long blade, one edge or two, and a hilt attached at the end so you can properly hold it. Swords are one of the more valuable weapons seeing as they're usually in the cornucopia and not scattered outside of it.

Trident: This three-pronged spear is often a weapon and tool used for spear fishing. District 4 tributes are skilled with these because they come from a district where fishing is very common. Tridents are mostly used to stab other people when they are a weapon.
Strategies
First thing is first, you need water and food to survive at all. After that, weapons are the most helpful thing you can have to protect yourself. Plans are also a good thing to come up with so you aren't just making stuff up as you go, which is more likely to get you killed.
One strategy is to form an alliance with other tributes, that way there are at least two of you fighting against other people instead of just yourself.
Another strategy is to fight and kill your opponents first instead of running away from the cornucopia to find food and water. This strategy works better if you have some kind of alliance formed and there's a group of you. Also if you know how to fight well and can kill easily.
Some tributes also just run away as soon as the cannon blows to put as much distance between them and the other tributes. You can hide out and wait for others to be killed before you try and fight anyone.
But you have to remember that you will definitely get killed if you have no weapon at all. This is why running might not be the best plan unless you intend to steal one from someone else or make your own makeshift weapon.
These are just a couple of the many options you can use to try and survive the Hunger Games. There are a few things you may have to figure out as you go, but before you enter the Arena, you should have some sort of idea or mind set of how you're going to remain alive.
